PLANNING CENTER FAQS

Planning Center Online (PCO)

What is PCO?

Planning Center Online is a church management software program that our church uses to organize information, manage events, groups, volunteer scheduling and more.

There are 9 different modules: People, Services, Groups, Registrations, Check-Ins, Calendar, Church Center, Giving, and Publishing. Each one serves a different purpose and all of them are centered around People, a shared database that connects to all of the other products.

Which programs do I need access to for my position at NCCTK?

Each PCO module has different permission levels and settings and your access will depend on your position at North County. Every new staff member will receive basic viewer permissions in People and Calendar. Additional permissions levels in these and the other modules will be given based on your position and training.

How many different programs or modules are a part of Planning Center?

How will I get access and training for the different PCO modules I need permissions for?

You will be given basic access and training when you onboard as a new staff member. Additional permissions will be given as needed, after completing additional training.

Is there more than one way to access PCO?

In addition to accessing Planning Center online from a desktop computer, there are several apps you can download that will be helpful for you as you use PCO. The Church Center app is the front end of PCO. All church members and volunteers can download and use this app for getting info about our events, groups, giving, calendar, serving schedule, and profile. It's a central hub for using PCO. For the backend admin side, there is an app for Services, People, Calendar, and Checkins, which can be helpful if you work in these modules. These are intended for staff use only, with the exception of Services, which can be used by volunteers as well.

How do I log in to PCO if I never have before?

To get started, login to PCO https://login.planningcenteronline.com/login/new, and edit your profile to upload your photo. Here's some info on how to do this as well as a great introduction to PCO:

1. Log in to People

2. Help People Update Their Profile

3. PCO Introduction for Staff Members

*IMPORTANT: Make sure your primary email address in your PCO profile is set to your new NCCTK staff email address.

How do I help a church member update their profile information?

If someone needs to update their contact information or add a family member, you can send them the link to the Information Update Form: https://ncctk.churchcenter.com/people/forms/187708

What if I have questions about how to do something in PCO or I think I might need higher permissions or access to a different module?

If you have any questions about anything PCO related please reach out to Bethany, bethany.adams@ncctk.com, who oversees many of the behind the scenes PCO processes, and permission levels for staff members at NCCTK. You can also click on the question mark icon at the top right of every PCO page to search for helpful "how to" articles or contact PCO for support. In addition to this, PCO has a great place to learn more about all of their modules. You can visit
